Biography:
Sinestro, formerly a Green Lantern, is the central figure associated with the Yellow Lantern Corps, also known as the Sinestro Corps. His first appearance was in Green Lantern #7 (July-August 1961).
Banished from the Green Lantern Corps for abusing his power on his home planet Korugar, Sinestro forged a yellow power ring fueled by fear, becoming the antithesis to the Green Lantern's will-powered rings. He founded the Sinestro Corps to instill order through fear, believing willpower alone insufficient to maintain peace in the universe.
His initial aim was to supplant the Green Lantern Corps and reshape the universe under his authoritarian rule. Although his methods are often cruel and destructive, Sinestro genuinely believes that his regime offers the only path to true stability.
Although sometimes an antagonist to the Green Lanterns, he has also occasionally found himself aligning with them against greater threats, demonstrating a complex and ever-evolving character.
